The Dark Pictures: House Of Ashes All Collectible Locations (All Secrets & All Pictures)
In this guide we will show you the locations of all the collectibles in Dark Pictures: House Of Ashes, this includes all 50 secrets & all 13 pictures.
Cursed (Prologue)
Picture #1. Arisen: This one can be found in the prologue and is very hard to miss, it will be on the ground in a circular room just after examining the helmet.
The Briefing
Secret #1. Bandit Briefing: The first secret can be found under a mug in the briefing room when controlling Eric.
The Raid
Secret #2. Mythology Book: Fond in Zain’s bedroom at the start of the chapter, there will be a Mythology Book on the desk, turn to page 2 to find the secret.
Secret #3. Pagan effigy: During the interrogation you will notice a Pagan Effigy, while looking at it choose the “Curious” option to unlock this secret.
Picture #2. Disarmed: Found in the corner of the room where one of the captive spits on Rachel’s face.
Secret #4. Gas Mask: After the first interrogation you will exit the house and then enter another one, the gas mask is in the corner of the first room to the left.
The Underworld
Secret #5. Punctured Skull: Controlling Nick at the start of the chapter you will meet up with Jason in a room with a massive stone hand, the secret will be under the hand on the right side.
Picture #3. Squeeze: Found in the small room up some stairs in the area where Jason and Nick meet up with the massive stone hand in the room.
Pazuzu
Picture #4. Daylight: Close to the start of the chapter you will see a cutscene as you go up some stairs, the collectible will be in an opening to the left of the dead soldier on the floor.
Picture #5. Fallen: At the start of the sequence of controlling Eric alongside Rachel you will go through a long passage, take a right as soon as you can to go down another long passage, the picture will be at the end.
Secret #6. Pazuzu: In the part where you are controlling Eric alongside Rachel you will climb around a door above a massive hole, in this room you can find the secret on the ground.
The Temple
Secret #7. Dynamite: As soon as you start controlling Rachel after they talk about getting gas for the generator, turn around and examine the dynamite.
Secret #8. Cuneiform Tablet: Found in the big room where you control Rachel for the first time, stick to the wall on the right hand side of the room (same side as the generator) to find the secret on a desk behind a tent.
Secret #9. Curse Of Akkad: In the same big room as the previous 2 collectibles (where you start to control Rachel), on a desk near the center of the room.
Secret #10. Randolph’s Journal: In the same room as the previous collectibles (first room where you get to control Rachel), look for a tent where you can pickup the gas just outside, the collectible will be inside this tent.
Secret #11. Expedition Members: In the same tent as the previous collectible.
Secret #12. Aline’s Letter: On a desk to the left of the big set of double stairs (same place Eric will be if you have turned on the generator).
Secret #13. Creature Features: From the big room with the generator, go up the big set of double stairs with the statue at the top, here take a right and go through the hall, you will emerge into a room with a secret on the desk to the right and a picture on the wall in front of you.
Picture #6. Ultraviolet: In the same room as the previous collectible.
After The Fall
Secret #14. Reference Book: After repairing the generator with Jason & Nick you will go through a side door (cutscene), as soon as you gain control again take an immediate right and find a book on the table at the end, go to page 2 to unlock the secret.
Secret #15. Randolph’s Journal Part 2 & Secret #16. Star Map: Found in the room with the trip wire attached to a grenade. YOU MUST SUCCEED IN DOING THE QTE AND DODGE THE GRENADE DO GET THESE COLLECTIBLES.
Picture #7. Staked: Found in the same room as the previous 2 collectibles.
Slayer
Secret #17. Holed Stone: After fighting off one of the monsters with Salim and watching a custscene where a few marines die, you will now be in control of Salim again in a long tunnel you will find the collectible on the floor as you go through it (almost impossible to miss).
Secret #18. Randolph’s Journal Part 3: While controlling Nick with Eric as company you will see a cutscene about a bloodstain, the secret will be on the ground in this same room close to a picture.
Picture #8. Surrendered: Found in the same room as the above secret, right next to it on the floor.
Bloodbath
Secret #19. Staked Woman: Controlling Jason and having Nick as company, you will reach a round room (the same room where you find the first picture of the game in the prologue), in this room examine the corpse on the floor.
Secret #20. Randolph’s Journal Part 4: In the same room as the previous collectible, around the left side of the circle.
Secret #21. Bloodless Corpse: In the same circular room as the previous collectibles, this time around the opposite side.
Picture #9. Tripwire: Found on the right hand side of the circular room, as where the previous collectibles.
Secret #22. Cylinder Seal: Found on the main path on a box in the hall just after the circular room mentioned in the previous collectibles (very hard to miss).
Secret #23. Plastic ID Card: As soon as you take control of Rachel, go around the left side column that you have in front of you, the secret will be in plain sight.
Secret #24. Ancient Helmet: A little further forwards from the last secret stick to the right side to find the secret.
Secret #25. Randolph’s Journal Part 5: From the last collectible go back to the middle of the pond of blood and continue forwards towards the light, the collectible will be on the side to your right.
Secret #26. Science Notes: After you make a torch with Rachel the secret will be in the next area on the left side (close to the big green circle “window”).
The Signal
Picture #10. Thirst: Found behind you as soon as you start the chapter (controlling nick).
Secret #27. Finds Catalog: From where you start (facing the entrance to the main temple) the collectible will be on the box to your left.
Secrets #28-30: In the same area as the previous collectible, where the columns are next to to massive foot statue, take a left to find the collectibles on 3 different boxes.
Secret #31. Randolph’s Journal Part 6: In the same room as the previous collectibles, this time go to the right of the massive feet, you can find it on a table.
Secret #32. Expedition Map: In the same area is the previous few collectibles, next to the radio.
The Enemy Of My Enemy
Picture #11. Comrades: After Salim holds the door for Jason to crawl under look to your right to see the picture on the wall.
Secret #33. Ritual Tablet: After Salim holds the door for Jason to crawl under go into the next open room to find the tablet on the table to your right.
Secret #34. Randolph’s Journal Part 7: To The right of the previous collectible.
Secret #35. Autopsy Notes: In the medical bay to the left of the entrance.
Secret #36. Randolph’s Journal Part 8: Found in the cell on the right in the medical bay.
Secret #37. Parasite Notes: Found on the desk in the center of the medical bay.
Secret #38. Black Onyx. In a box in the far left corner of the medical bay.
The Ancient One
Secret #39. Finds Ledger: Found at the start of the chapter as soon as you get off the elevator to your left, turn to page 2 to unlock the secret.
Picture #12. Mauled: At the very start of the chapter as you get off the elevator look to your left, the picture will be in the rocks, this should be your last black framed picture.
Secret #40. Cocoon: From the elevator at the start of the level go straight for a few meters and you will notice the cocoon on your right (look at the top of it to unlock the secret).
Secret #41 & Secret #42: Just after the cocoon (previous collectible) you will come to a room filled with stalagmites and stalactites, stick to the left side of this room to find both collectibles.
The City
Secret #43. Mysterious Artifact: At the very start of “The City” chapter stick to the left to find this secret at the end of a ledge looking over the area below.
Secret #44. Ruptured Skull: Continue on the main path until you get to a big circular area with a massive hole in the middle, go around the hole on the right hand side to find the collectible next to a statue.
Secret #45. Fossilized Lifeforms: Just after the circular area you will come to a part where you have to avoid stepping on the green plant type things on the floor, if you manage to get to the end without doing so the secret can be obtained by examining the corpse to the right after the short cutscene.
Strange Aeons
Secret #46-49 & Picture #13: All of these collectibles can be found around the Star Chamber room when you control Rachel.
Secret #50. Alien Parasite: In the star chamber you will have to choose NOT to kill Rachel even if she is infected and DO NOT hit the White phosphorus with the knife, this will lead to Eric burning the bug out of Rachel and allowing you to kill it, after that you will pick it up and unlock the secret.
