To get the “Better Off Dead” trophy / achievement you will have to defeat the “Gun Goddess” boss. You can find this secret boss in the Throne Of The Queen That Was area. You can get there by going to the Cerulean Expanse area on Cerulean Island and then taking the following directions: NORTHEAST > SOUTHEAST > NORTHEAST > EAST. Here, take the speedball to get to the boss area (you must have advanced through the story up to the point where you use the speedball network for it to be active).
